Position Summary:
Join our team at Children’s Mercy - Camber Olathe Hospital as the Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) starting no earlier than July 1, 2024. The ADON collaborates with hospital leadership to enhance programs and acts as a liaison between various departments. Responsibilities include providing quality nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and establishing nursing standards compliant with regulatory guidelines.
Location:
Pay:
- $80,000 to $90,000
- Based on experience and qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s degree in nursing required, BSN preferred
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid auto insurance
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas
- ANCC certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of prior experience or equivalent training in psychiatric nursing required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Essential Duties:
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Coordinates patient transfers in compliance with EMTALA/COBRA laws
- Acts as liaison with contract pharmacy
- Reviews clinical reports and oversees Infection Control Committee
- Attends various administrative and improvement committees
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and requirements
- Supports recruitment, retention, and recognition efforts
- Serves as on-call Administrator and for nursing staff during emergencies
- Monitors staff activities, assists in training, and performs unit duties as needed
- Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff in-service training and documentation
- Manages nursing appointments, disciplinary actions, and other HR matters
- Directly supervises nursing staff
- Ensures compliance with policies and laws
- Plans work assignments, conducts performance appraisals, and resolves issues
- Upholds organizational values and promotes teamwork
- Is fiscally responsible and supports best practices development with the leadership team.
