JOB GOAL:
To maintain facilities, plumbing systems and equipment in such a manner that no disruption occurs to the instructional program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a maintenance plumber and two years supervising plumbing work
Ability to work with tools and a basic understanding of plumbing maintenance
Journeyman Plumbing License minimum, Master preferred

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assess Plumbing work requests and schedule work based on student and staff safety, accessibility of area affected, importance of system operation and school activities schedule.
2. Design and implement preventive maintenance program for Plumbing systems and equipment. Work with Director of Maintenance and work order specialist to utilize maintenance management system to schedule and monitor PM program.
3. Monitor, supervise and instruct Plumbing workers in the safe, timely completion of duties assigned and in compliance with District and Maintenance Department Policy.
4. Compile, catalog and maintain list of supplies and materials used to perform duties utilizing the inventory management module of the maintenance management system. Manage contacts with vendors and suppliers for systems and equipment the Plumbing Trade maintains and repairs.
5. Compile and maintain record of tools and equipment utilizing the inventory management module of the maintenance management system for the vehicles and storage area assigned to the Plumbing
Trade.
6. Compile and maintain record of manufacturers and where applicable model and serial numbers of equipment and systems plumbers repair and maintain utilizing the Inventory and Preventive
Maintenance module of the maintenance management system for use in the Preventive
Maintenance program.
7. Monitor Maintenance Department maintenance management system to insure timely completion of
Plumbing work orders and accurate entry of technician comments, labor and material costs in accordance with Department goals. Fill out District paperwork and electronic records properly and maintain records as directed.
8. Perform all plumbing duties when work load and importance of failed system requires it.
9. Assists other maintenance personnel as needed and directed by supervisor.

10. Performs other duties as the superintendent or designee may assign.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Hand tools, tubing cutters, pipe threaders, sewer machine & camera and other equipment peculiar to the plumbing trade, operates light truck, utilize safety equipment and clothing as required by
District.

Mental Demands:
Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; understand verbal and written instructions; ability to direct the work of others and schedule work based on the importance of system and needs of staff and students; ability to motivate, instruct and work well with others.
Physical Demands:
Continual walking and standing, climbing, stooping, bending and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying. Ability to operate a motor vehicle (light truck). Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects and vehicles. Work at ground level, on ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and on roofs. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, odors and slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The Plumbing Supervisor works 40 hours per week for twelve (12) months (260 days) and is paid twice per month. Salary established by the Board. The Plumbing Supervisor shall take a regular turn in the Maintenance Department’s On-Call program, up to 13 weeks per year.
EVALUATION:
Evaluation of job performance is a continuous process designed to improve the quality of work performed. Performance evaluations shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of policies pertaining to Evaluation of Auxiliary Personnel.
