AMS Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows Server Engineer with an active Top-Secret Clearance to join our dynamic IT team in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Windows Server environments and a deep understanding of Active Directory. This role involves maintaining and optimizing our Windows Server infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Windows Server Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor server performance, identify issues, and implement solutions.
- Active Directory Administration:
- Design, deploy, and manage Active Directory (AD) infrastructure.
- Implement and manage Group Policies.
- Ensure AD security, including user account management, authentication, and authorization.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and systems.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Perform regular backups and restore operations to ensure data integrity.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide tier-2/3 support for server-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to provide seamless support.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on server performance, security, and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and security.
Qualifications:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration.
- Expertise in Active Directory design, implementation, and management.
- Strong knowledge of Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or similar.
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
Required Certifications:
- Certification 8570/8140 IAT II (required within 6 months)
