ANIBIC is seeking a dedicated Residential Medical Coordinator / DSP to work closely with our Management and Nursing team to ensure quality medical care for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
The Medical Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, attending, tracking and documenting medical appointments and labs. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform DSP responsibilities as needed, provide protective oversight to individuals, developing their independent living skills while facilitating person-centered programming.
- Transport and accompany residents on medical appointments.
- Maintain excellent communication with the Residence Manager and the Nurse verbally and in writing using designated communication system (logs), tracking systems, calendars, etc.
- Use the organizational system to track medical appointments and follow-up.
- Ensure medication inventory is maintained and that refills are ordered in a timely manner.
- Communicate with families as directed by the RN or Managers.
- Prepare for appointments to ensure effective advocacy while on the appointment.
- Drive agency vehicles and adhere to all legal and safety protocols.
- Inform the nurse and management immediately of any medication changes.
- Complete inventory of all medication and ensure all medication is ordered and delivered.
- Adhere to AMAP procedures
- Under the direction and supervision of the RN, provide mentoring and training to employees on safety protocols and updates.
- Must maintain AMAP, First Aid/CPR Certifications and Valid Drivers Liscence to maintain employment in this position.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Valid Drivers license
- Current AMAP Certification or History of AMAP Certification
- HS Diploma or GED / AS or BS Degree preferred
- At least 1 year of Direct Support Professional experience preferred
