Reliable, responsible nurse needed for a pediatric office in St. Peters, MO. Full time. No evening or nights.

Consistent attendance, punctuality, reliability, and professionalism are expected. The position will work 32 to 40 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in back office to support Physician and other team members
- Confirm purpose of the visit
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature; hearing and vision testing; reporting patient chief complaint (what brings the patient in for today)
- Adept at putting children and parents at ease during visit
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; keeping patient information confidential.
- Carry out tests and administer medication and immunizations on patients in line with the physician’s instructions
- Prepare exam rooms and prep the patient for the visit
- Assist physician when required
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
- Sterilize medical instruments and properly dispose of contaminated supplies, such as needles and syringes using practice universal precautions when dealing with bodily fluids to protect themselves, their patients, their co-workers and others
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Performs chart prep functions for upcoming appointments
- Perform other related duties as directed or required
Phone Triage
- Triage patient calls to assess situation, give advice as needed.
- Prioritize calls as it relates to scheduling appointments with physicians following the appointment templates for the physician.
- Working closely with physicians in regards to patient care messages and discuss any outstanding items that need to be addressed.
- Perform parent/patient education activities and provide appropriate materials or resources.
- Obtain pre-certification for tests (CT, MRI, etc.,) and prior authorizations.
- Contact patients in regards to test results.
- Process e-prescriptions for medications and refills.
- Obtain test results from outside facilities.
- Verify and validate after hours on-call messages to ensure that the patient chart accurately reflects the call and contact patient if necessary for follow-up.
- Follow up with patients in regards to their sick visits when requested to do so by physician.
Qualifications
Current Missouri RN/LPN nursing license
Relative experience (1+ year) in pediatrics or private office setting preferred
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and on your feet 80-100% of the time
CPR certified
Compensation will be based on education, experience, and qualifications.
