Position Summary: In the Construction Planning Support role, you will utilize your expertise and leadership skills in working with sub-contractors, engineering, project coordination, and field construction. You will work closely with multiple Superintendents and Project Managers on multiple projects to shop for bids on trade work to create an aggressive construction budget within the constraints of the original sales budget or better.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Shop for subcontractors.
- Support Sales Team in estimating sales quotes.
- Confirm scope of work on bids received.
- Manage all bids for each job and present to super and PMs.
- Manage Contractor files.
- Manage Contractor records per job.
- Create PO’s.
- Help Track budgets, maintain budget spreadsheet with current and accurate values.
- Record and track pricing based upon historical data.
- Help Director of Business Operations create budgets based on bids.
- Create Job Folders for each job.
- Help the Construction Managers with PO management.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of relevant experience preferably construction-related industry focusing on customer services, engineering, development, production, budget, risks, resources, and scheduling.
- Excellent project management skills, including proficiency in Project Management methodology, tools, and best practices.
- Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project/Gantt Chart, PDF).
- Understanding of architecture, engineering, construction management, or closely related field - preferred.
- Analytical skills, attention to details, and strong verbal and written communications for technical and non-technical audiences – preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
- Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional groups to accomplish goals.
- Ability to manage deliverables during all phases of the project life cycle.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on reaching deadlines.
