Muldoon's Irish Pub is looking for Cooks dedicated to providing a unique dining experience to join our team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy.
Position Summary: As a Cook, consistency is a key element in a positive experience achieved by preparing and cooking food for guests as per restaurant standards and by always following recipes.
Major Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Must be able to maintain safety and sanitation requirements as per Health Department and restaurant standards.
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu, and as requested by the Chef
- Cook food and prepare menu items in a timely manner and according to recipes
- Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of work surfaces or serving areas and storage containers to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
- Must use cutting gloves and follow all safety procedures.
- Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant; complete opening and closing duties; keep a clean workstation and floor space.
- Communicate with coworkers in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Other duties as directed.
Qualifications, Certification, Registrations or Licenses
- Must be 18 years or older; minimum 3 years previous restaurant experience, preferably in a high-volume kitchen
- Must have or be able to obtain a CA Food Handlers Certificate
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task oriented.
- Able to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy; ability to lift overhead
- Ability to work standing for duration of shift
