Housekeeping Aide Performance Standards:

Responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of the interior and exterior of the building

Checks all equipment regularly for proper functioning: including sweepers, mops, fans, exhausts, vents, and screens. Notifies Supervisor of malfunctions.

Maintains adequate supply of all cleaning materials, supplies, chemicals, etc. and notifies Supervisor when supplies need reordered.

Cleans bathrooms, offices, lounges, hallways, and basement daily.
-
Cleans wheelchairs, geriatric chairs, walkers, and other equipment, as needed.
-
Cleans resident rooms including chairs, dressers, bedside cabinets, floors, and closets daily.
-
Discards dead floral arrangements.
-
Sanitizes resident bed and mattress monthly and as needed.
-
Responsible for the routine cleaning of windows, screens, draperies and privacy curtains.
-
Cleans dining room after meals.
-
Sweeps porches, patios and sidewalks daily.
-
Empties and cleans trash cans and replaces with clean liners.
-
Attends immediately to incontinent spillages on floors including soiled areas on the carpet or furniture.
-
Reports building damages such as chipped paint, wall marks, furniture damages and so forth in the maintenance log located at the Nurses Station.

Stores clothing into proper containers to be washed.

Washes and dries all linens including curtains, sheets, washcloths, towels, blankets, bedspreads, sheep skins, personal clothing, isolation laundry, etc. at proper water and heat temperatures and with proper amount of detergent and bleach.

Folds, hangs on hangers clothing/linens to prevent wrinkles and if applicable, irons to prevent wrinkles.

Places unmarked clothing in a "No Name" area for the day shift personnel to identify and mark.

Re-marks clothing as needed and directed.

Places all cleaned linens in clean linen closets and distributes all personal clothing to individual resident’s closets, on a daily/as needed basis.

Reports clothing/linens in need of repair such as small rips, etc. to Supervisor.

Cleans and mops the laundry area, cleans dryer vent after every load.
-
Maintains washers, dryers, etc. in good running order. Notifies Supervisor of malfunctions.
-
Submits completed cleaning schedule check lists to Supervisor daily.

Prepares requisitions of floor maintenance supplies for purchasing agent subject to prior approval of the Executive Director.
-
Responsible for floor maintenance regarding floor finish, buffing, finish removal, etc.
-
Completed High School Diploma/GED/HSE Certificate.
-
Ability to stand and sit for periods of time and to move intermittently throughout the workday.
-
Capability to do heavy lifting without negative or detrimental effects.
-
Consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and required background checks.
