Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented construction accounting professional for a commercial construction company located in Ashtabula, Oh.
Candidates should be proficient in general accounting procedures, including A/R, A/P, General Ledgers, and Payroll. Additionally, the preparation of quarterly statements for bonding and accounting is required. Other duties include administrative functions as they relate to contracts and various reporting for state and local governmental agencies, cash flows, banking, and taxes, and all other office functions.
Duties:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are properly recorded and reconciled
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of employee compensation
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field required
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in financial management software (Foundations Software)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns in financial data
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., GAAP)
- Experience with payroll processing is preferred
Training provided.
Familiarity with Foundations accounting software a plus, not a requirement. Position includes competitive pay, medical benefits, profit share, 401k, and paid vacation.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
