As a Neurophysiology Assistant, you will be in a great position to grow your career while working with highly skilled physicians and surgical teams in a variety of clinical settings and locations.
To get you to that point, we offer full-time, paid employment coupled with a structured training program that requires development of requisite technical/clinical skill sets, supervised involvement in IONM patient care, and progressive demonstration of clinical productivity.
Along with your IONM training you will be required to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties include providing support to our manager and clinical staff , assisting in daily office needs. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like Google G-Suite and basic computer skills. Ultimately, a successful team member should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office.
The position is perfect for those interested in the medical field. Although experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right person.
Additional Responsibilities
- Answer and direct phone calls, faxes, and emails
- Room patient and take Vitals
- Organize and schedule patient appointments
- Assist in the preparation of physician reports and charts.
- Assist in scanning, data entry and mail.
- Assist with insurance verification
- Collect patient payments
- Answer medical records requests
- Provide general support for our patients and staff
Skills
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and electronic fax
- Proficiency in Google G-Suite ( Docs, Sheets)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- High School degree ( required) ; College degree / coursework (preferred).
Long Term Career Opportunity in IONM
- Learn, understand and become proficient (while under supervision) in completing the following duties:
o Apply stimulation and recording electrodes in an accurate and timely manner
o Set up, calibrate, evaluate and adjust equipment, optimizing stimulation and recording parameters to acquire salient data.
o Establish and prepare medical record documentation in accordance with hospital and Neuro EMG Woodlands policy.
o Keep equipment clean and in proper working order, reporting malfunctions to supervisor and/or biomedical engineering department and/or manufacturer.
o Communicate and document potential or real equipment problems to all relevant members of the clinical team.
o Establish and maintain timely communication with other members of the neuromonitoring team who may be providing professional oversight and/or consultation during surgery.
o Perform post-operative clinical follow-up, and provides follow-up recording as needed.
o Disconnect the electrodes from the patient following surgery and clean/disassemble the equipment.
o Follow all Neuro EMG Woodlands needle and safety practices.
o Ensure that all required documentation is completed according to protocol established by the customer and Neuro EMG Woodlands management.
o Read, understand, and implement all policies and procedure guidelines.
o Assist physician and other clinical staff members as requested.
o Ensure that supplies are ordered, stocked and available as needed.
Position Requirements
- Healthcare experience or training preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours as scheduled, including weekends and holidays, and to be on-call as scheduled.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
