Under the guidance of the management team, deliver a camp program that meets the needs and interests of children with and without disabilities and ensure a safe, quality program.
Ensure that campers are supervised at all times throughout the day, including transition periods, and ensure campers are engaged in appropriate activities throughout the day. Oversee all aspects of camper services, ensuring each camper receives the support they need to be successful in the program.
Coordinate all camper-based services including attendance, positive behavior interventions, parent phone calls, and managing lost and found. Maintain a schedule for camp participants. Organize and lead various small and large group activities.
Supervise, mentor and train assigned staff; assist with conducting supervision meetings, evaluate staff, and work with them on training plans.
Provide crisis intervention in line with agency policies and is a member of the summer emergency action team. Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
Under the guidance of the medical staff, administer medications as outlined in the camper's medication form and in accordance with agency and Maryland Board of Nursing guidelines.
Assist with the coordination of summer orientation and ongoing in service training for camp staff.
Willingly participate in other areas as necessary.
