4K Family network is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Stark County, OH that aims to improve the lives of children and families through mentorship activities. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a true impact in the community. Behavior Mentors are essential in helping us achieve our mission of improving the lives of children of all abilities and a vision of a community where children are able to fulfill their own unique potential. Staff will engage with children ages ranging 3-11 years old in educational and social-emotional activities within one of our partnered sites.
PLEASE READ: Applicants must be willing to work with children that experiences high /intense behavioral, academic, and social-emotional challenges. Our program is NOT a childcare facility, we are a MENTORSHIP program that provides highly structured behavior intervention activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist Lead staff member in the implementation of a culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate curriculum that creates a positive, nurturing environment and includes adult directed activities and center choices that takes into consideration the needs of each child and the goals and objectives of 4K Family Network.
2. Maintain safety and wellbeing of all participants through appropriate monitoring of young children.
3. Implement daily activity plans under the direction of the lead staff member.
4. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and in-service training, and supervision as required.
5. Assume any other duties as assigned by Director.
6. Attend scheduled staff meetings when requested.
7. Complete all necessary documentation and submit in a timely manner to designated staff member.
8. Must maintain the confidentiality of both the agency, partnered site, and participating families. Applicant will be expected to sign a confidentiality statement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Some experience and/or strong interest in working with youth. Degree Preferred.
2. Creative skills and/or willingness to learn.
4. Demonstrated strong customer service skills; ability to work well with children in coordination with staff, parents, and/or teachers.
5. Willingness to complete on-site training
6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds.
7. Reliable transportation to and from job site.
8. Willing to submit to a completed background check.
LOCATION: Canton, OH
AVAILABILITY: Mornings, Afternoons
HOURS: 2-4 hours PER WEEK
EMPLOYMENT: SEASONAL (JULY-AUGUST); 8-WEEK PROGRAM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week
