The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Saint Michael's College has a recurring need for Adjunct Instructors to teach one or two courses per semester. Courses include precalculus, calculus, elementary statistics, mathematics for teachers, and other first year mathematics and statistics courses. The need for 2024-25 focuses on Statistics. Applications will be kept on file and reviewed as these openings occur.
Our lived experience impacts how we self-assess our skills, experience, and qualifications. Data and statistics have shown that candidates who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, people from working-class backgrounds, people with disabilities, and others with minoritized and marginalized identities may not apply to jobs when they do not believe they meet 100% of the requirements and expected responsibilities listed in the job descriptions. Some responsibilities and skills are teachable and can be learned on the job. If you can imagine yourself in this position, bringing value to our students and community and meeting most of what we are looking for, please apply.
This position allows the employee to make their own pre-tax contributions to a 401(k) account, access to employee and family assistance program, well-being programs and opportunities, paid volunteer time, use of the campus athletic facilities and the library, and countless opportunities to attend presentations, lectures, and other campus activities. This position is not eligible for the college’s regular fringe benefits.
