The Finance Assistant Candidate must be able to plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company’s monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
The candidate must have the ability to use Quick books. A good knowledge in all areas is preferred however, knowledge and good working practices are a necessity in Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger and Bank Reconciliation. Preferable knowledge of preparing 1099's is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required along with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
The Finance Assistant will be required to work closely with the CFO to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department
Daily Duties
· Reconcile Bank Account
· Raise Sales Invoices
· Input Purchase Invoices
· Credit Control – Chase all outstanding sales invoices
Weekly Duties
· Update CFO with monies due in and out
Monthly Duties
· Ensure all months’ data is input so that CFO can prepare Management accounts
Yearly Duties
· Ensure all years’ data is input so that the CFO can prepare the Year End Accounts
Essential Person Specification
- · Experience of working within a finance department
- · Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- · Awareness of the provisions of the Data Protection Act and be able to apply these within the organisation
- · Good level of competence in Excel, Word and Outlook and computerised accounting software
- · Good keyboard skills
- · Good communication and listening skills
- · Good organisational skills used in planning own work
- · Calm and professional disposition
- · Self motivated and enthusiastic
