Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Mental Health Assistant

Andrew Residence provides residents with 24-hour mental and physical health care including medication management, individual program management, group programming, and coordination of care with community healthcare providers. We are proud of our dual licensure as a Nursing Facility and Residential Treatment Program for Adults with Mental Illness, as well as our Joint Commission Accreditation in Behavioral Health.
Current CNA openings:
- Full-time (0.9-1.0 FTE) 3:00 - 11:30 PM, with a weekend rotation (both Saturday & Sunday, every other weekend)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with completion of administrative nursing tasks
- Administer medications and treatments per legal order, following established protocols
- Monitor physical health changes and medication side-effects by collecting residents’ vital signs and communicating abnormalities and/or changes to nursing staff
- Assist in resident appointment scheduling
- Provide hands on assistance, education, and oversight to residents requiring interventions related to hygiene and general self-cares
Compensation:
$19.50-$20.75/hour depending on qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Detail-oriented with strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively with adults experiencing mental illness
- Ability to adapt to dynamic variable situations with the work environment
- Ability to work 3 pre-determined holiday shifts per year (and receive holiday pay!)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Trained Medication Aide Preferred (TMA) – (Andrew will pay for CNA candidates to receive TMA training)
- Current Nursing Student or pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Driver's License

COVID-19 Considerations: PPE is provided to all employees and we follow the recommendations from MDH and the CDC. CDC guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination recommend that everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines including booster doses. COVID vaccination for Andrew Residence employees is not required, but is highly encouraged
WHAT MAKES ANDREW DIFFERENT Andrew Residence is a mental health residential treatment and nursing facility. Our multi-disciplinary teams serve adults who are experiencing mental illness and co-occurring disorders. We offer evidence based, collaborative and trauma-informed treatment services that align with an individual’s personal goals and needs. In addition to our mental health programming, we provide a broad range of physical health care services by our 24-hour nursing team. Andrew is for those who do not need psychiatric hospitalization and are working toward living independently.
OUR RESIDENTS Those living at Andrew Residence have a mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder or Major Depression. Other diagnoses include Personality disorders, Anxiety disorders, Substance use, and Obsessive Compulsive disorder. Residents are culturally diverse in ethnicity, race, spirituality and sexual orientation. Ages of our residents range from 18-70 years old.
