The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. These include, but are not limited to, utilization skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards.
Job duties include:
- Providing case management to a group of patients, providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures; clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management; and acting as a patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Providing efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during the clinic sessions, attending the clinics where scheduled and being dependable. Able to manage a number of patients at the same time with high energy and organization.
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center physicians, Program Director and Medical Director, regarding clinic and patient needs.
- May be required to attend 40-hour approved Hyperbaric Safety Course and act as interim chamber operator, if coverage is necessary.
- Will maintain appropriate competencies to fulfill requirements of Hyperbaric Chamber Operator, if necessary.
