Responsibilities include:
· Assists with supporting schedules of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements including freight analysis, metal reports, and budget templates.
· Prepares general ledger journal entries at month end regarding accruals, prepayments, and required adjustments.
· Responsible for reconciling all prepaid and accrual accounts every month.
· Responsible for reconciliation of all company’s capital assets and maintaining corresponding records.
· Assists with tax schedules, e.g. personal property tax, use tax, meals expense, mileage tracking.
· Responsible for reconciliation of intercompany balances.
· Responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts for accounts payable, accounts receivable, accrued liabilities, and prepayments monthly.
Accounts Payable Focus:
· Processes accounts payable to meet monthly deadline. Ensures proper authorization and accuracy of invoices. Matches supporting documents to invoices.
· Prepares daily checks and bank wire payments, as well as the weekly check run. Ensures bank wires are released on time and checks are duly signed before mailing.
· Responds to payment related inquiries from outside and inside sources.
· Responsible for tracking costs related to capital projects and providing reports to assist project managers in tracking costs.
· Maintains vendor files, ensuring addresses and bank wire instructions are accurate and current.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience within an accounting role; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Completion of a degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
· Completion of an MBA in Accounting or a CPA program or enrolled in a CPA program preferred.
· Strong technical knowledge and skills in performing various reconciliations, accounting and financial analysis.
· Strong time management and organizational skills; able to handle a high volume of invoices in an organized and timely manner; ensuring payment deadlines are met and maximizing Company’s ability to take advantage of vendor discounts.
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; able to create and update detailed spreadsheets with formulas.
Good communication in dealing with employees and vendors professionally.
