To further our mission we are looking for a Part-time Overnight Resident Advisor.
Position Overview:
The Resident Advisor will provide supervision and support as well as maintain the safety of the clients and the building. The RA will effectively communicate and be an active team member of the My Place Resumption Program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients in the program
- Teach daily living skills
- Maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment
- Complete daily shift logs
- Ensure that program rules and expectations are being carried out
- Communicate building issues, equipment failures, safety concerns etc.
- Takes responsibility for daily and ongoing maintenance of the facility. Completes maintenance forms and follows through on repairs and other household maintenance issues.
- Teamwork: Maintain effective communication in speech and in writing. Participate actively as a staff member in groups scheduled during working hours. Maintain positive relationships with colleagues internally and externally, referral sources, client family members and the community.
- Provide crisis intervention support and follow up.
- Complete unusual & critical Incident Reports according to DHS procedure.
- Carry out building security checks at least four times per shift
- Check all floors and notify police, fire department, and “Revive for Independence” Resumption staff of any situation requiring immediate or prompt attention.
- Completion of agency required training
- Obtain and maintains certification in First Aid and CPR
- Establish/maintain relationships with ILP agencies in Allegheny County and Uptown community
- Maintain a professional representation of ACTION-Housing/” Revive for Independence” Resumption Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with youth aging out of foster care.
