Miller Engineering is looking to grow our forensic engineering inspection team. Structural forensic engineering is defined as the application of engineering principles to the investigation of failures or other performance problems in buildings and other structures. The successful candidate will assist our lead forensic engineer in performing forensic inspections, writing inspection reports, creating design documents, and maintaining records.
Forensic Investigator Responsibilities:
· Conduct residential and commercial forensic inspections
· Research and apply applicable building codes during the investigation & report writing process
· Writing technical reports with detailed assessments of site conditions
· Determine the cause of structural failures
· Prepare recommendations for remediation of structural failures
Forensic Investigator Requirements:
· Ability to perform at heights and in small, enclosed areas such as crawlspaces and attics
· Ability to perform in varying temperatures, both extreme hot and cold
· Technical writing skills
· Excellent computer skills
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Must be able to work in a team and effectively communicate
· Experience with AutoCAD preferred (not required but must be willing to learn)
· Experience in construction preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
