The Team You’ll Work With
The Office is the intergovernmental liaison between City government and the Federal government and
is responsible for presenting the City's interests to the Congress and the Executive Branch.
The Problems You’ll Solve
As a member of the Intergovernmental Affairs senior team, the Director will:
- Manage external relations with the New York City Congressional Delegation, White House and
Federal Agencies
- Manage legislative portfolios and responsibilities with Federal Affairs staff
- In coordination with the Mayor’s IGA Office, provide response to inquiries and requests from federal
partners.
- Advocate for policies benefitting New York city on the federal level:
- Secure federal grants, make comments on legislation and manage federal appropriations
