Position Summary
The Multi-Asset Strategies Group (MSG) Quantitative Software Engineer is responsible for assisting with and creating quantitative investment applications and processes that increase business impact and support transformative change in the pension investment management landscape. The incumbent will build investment supporting software to identify inefficiencies and opportunities to maximize investment performance. This position will proactively work with MSG quantitative developers and analysts, portfolio managers, data scientists, and skilled data engineers. This position reports to the Senior Managing Director of Multi-Asset Strategies Group (MSG).
Selected applicant will be offered the position that most closely matches their education and experience.
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $200,000 + Discretionary Bonus
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Software Engineering
- Builds software to design and implement systematic trading solutions to capture pricing inefficiencies, optimally aggregate massive amounts of financial information, and accelerate investment research.
- Works collaboratively within the MSG Team to create a reliable and robust foundation for IMD's technology platform, taking a holistic approach to systems performance, software design, and profit and loss (PnL)optimization.
- Monitors daily data extract, transform, and load (ETL) production jobs using applications including Python, SQL, NumPY and Pandas.
- Maintains code quality and integrity through continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) systems, including Jenkins, Powershell scripting, and Python.
- Ensures application quality via quality control tests and communicates with stakeholders and team members on topics including issues, ideas, and changes.
- Assists with writing technical specifications, project plans, and technical documentation for financial and investment systems.
- Performs related work as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer engineering, computers and information technology, data analytics, engineering, or closely related field.
Required Experience
- One (1) year of full-time experience in software engineering, quantitative development, or related experience (Sr Analyst).
- Three (3) years of full-time experience in software engineering, quantitative development, or related experience (Associate).
- Five (5) years of full-time experience in software engineering, quantitative development, or related experience (Sr Associate).
- Experience with the Python data science stack, including NumPy and Pandas, and MS SQL Server.
- Experience with a version control software, including git.
Required Registration, Certification, or Licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building software to design and implement systematic trading solutions
- Experience in optimally aggregating information to accelerate investment research.
- Experience working with Quantitative researchers.
- Experience in developing programs to maximize business impact particularly in generating PnL.
- Experience in Quantitative decision making
- A critical thinker with a strong quantitative foundation.
