We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our team at Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor Family Law Firm- serving the Atlanta and Savannah metro areas with its main office in Marietta, GA. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in administrative HR functions, and an ability to provide essential support to our Human Resources departments. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The HR Assistant will be responsible for maintaining employee records, assisting with compliance issues, and supporting the recruitment process. The successful candidate must have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and a keen eye for detail. This position offers a base salary of $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year and a comprehensive benefits package. This position reports directly to the firm's HR Manager and will interact closely with members of the Executive and Managing teams. The HR Assistant will perform day-to-day administrative, recruiting, and employee-related duties. Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives.
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Draft and review legal documents and contracts.
- Conduct research and provide summaries of findings.
- Capture, organize, and relay meeting notes for regularly scheduled meetings.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Assist with employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Assist with benefits administration and payroll processing.
- Assist with monitoring and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with internal audits and investigations.
- Provide administrative support to HR.
- Manage and organize HR files and documents.
- Assist with performance management processes.
- Coordinate employee recognition programs.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a HR role.
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or a related field.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Experience with HR software and databases.

Job Summary:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment contracts, performance evaluations, and benefits documentation.
- Posts job ads and vacancies on job boards, screens resumes and applications, schedules and coordinates interviews, and assists in background/reference checks.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Undertakes administrative duties necessary to fulfill compliance tasks.
- Supports in preparing and managing employee actions and other official documents related to performance improvement, reassignment, suspension, resignation, retirement, and employee exits.
- Assists in handling employee complaints and grievances, schedules HR meetings, and documents minutes of meetings attended.
