Job Title: Interventionist
Reports to: Assistant Principal
Job Summary:
Under the administrative supervision of the Head of School and the programmatic supervision of the Assistant Principal, the Interventionist will work directly with the teachers, academic coaches, school administrators, and students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide small group and/or individual instruction to targeted students in the areas of reading, language arts and/or mathematics.
Provide supplemental instruction to at-risk students.
Attend training in the appropriate model(s) implemented in the school.
Keep accurate records of student work and interventions.
Provide classroom teacher(s) with regular progress reports on targeted students
Provide supplemental instruction and plan appropriate activities for students in a diverse environment. .
Assist teachers in developing action plans for students who are not achieving mastery of standards and skills.
Analyze student assessment data to make informed decisions regarding student achievement
Interact collaboratively and productively with school personnel.
Express thoughts professionally in oral and written language.
Possess adequate technology skills.
Keep abreast of current research, trends and issues in education by engaging in professional development activities.
Completes and maintains a log of services provided to students.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
3+ years teaching experience (required)
Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Teaching Certificate (preferred)
Track record of success in improving student mastery
Knowledge of state standards.
