Human Resources Manager
Position Description
The Human Resource Manager will plan, partner, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities focused on successful people initiatives for Patagonia Health. This all-encompassing HR practitioner will partner, coach and interface with Patagonia leadership and employees across the country daily to ensure culture and HR practices are aligned with the goals of the business. The HR Manager will report directly to the CEO.
The successful candidate for this role will have worked in a small to medium sized company with responsibility for all aspects of Human Resources. Ideally, they will also have a strong recruiting background, including employment branding, sourcing and project management of an effective candidate centric hiring process.
The experience we are looking for:
Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations.
Curiosity and ability to research, learn and apply compliance requirements in various states throughout the US., specifically where Patagonia Health has employees.
Proven partnership with our leadership team to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives

What you will be doing:
Hiring
Hands on experience with a talent acquisition process, including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding. The ability to provide guidance and compliance oversight for hiring processes; may augment hiring initiatives when needed
Partner and collaborator with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Experience identifying, gathering, reporting and analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning
Understanding and ability to use sourcing tools (resume databases and online communities) to build rich talent pipelines.
Employee Relations
Act as the company resource for managers and supervisors on all matters related to employee relations with regard to policy interpretation and complaint resolution.
Provide guidance and support to all managers and supervisors on performance management with the aim of preventing employee concerns
Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
Ability to navigate difficult conversations with appropriate discretion and confidentiality.
Act as POC for all employees for questions related to any HR topics and primary individual to address any issues employees may bring to company attention
Maintain company employee handbook with all changes, updates, etc
Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
Develop, document, implement and ensure all HR processes and procedures are compliant and current with all state, federal, local regulations.
Engagement
Design and implement employee retention strategies
Analyze trends in compensation and benefits
Maintain a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; keep the strategy up to date
Develop and manage a fit for purpose employee performance review process. As necessary coach leadership on the creation of individualized performance improvement plans (providing coaching on development, review, delivery, and monitoring).
Execute all off-boarding procedures, including advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.
Manage the execution of an annual all employee engagement survey and appropriate follow up.
Compliance
Ensure company compliance with all Affordable Care Act, eVerify, FMLA, FLSA, HIPPA, Workers Compensation Insurance, OFFCP, EEO, Ethics hotline, OSHA, VETS100, ERISA, COBRA and other related requirements
Maintain and ensure all employee records are up-to-date and comply with applicable legal requirements
Administer all unemployment claims, including filing paperwork, representing the company during hearings, filing any necessary appeals, etc
Partner with the Controller and finance team to ensure employee data and payrolls are accurate. Collaborates to ensure all proper deductions are being withheld from employee’s paychecks for employee portion of benefits costs, garnishments, taxes, elections, deductions, etc and maintains accurate records of documents pertaining to payroll and taxes.
Recognition - Compensation & Benefits
Manage employee recognition programs
Manage and execute all benefits administration responsibilities for new hires, terminations, and annual enrollments. Leads annual benefit review. Ensure competitive advantage and assess cost and ROI.
Provide employee support for the benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Administer the FMLA, STD, LTD and other leaves of absence.
In coordination with Controller manage company 401K program to ensure compliance with all legal regulations and assist all employees with any plan related questions
Responsible for the ongoing management and administration of all HR related vendors to ensure service delivery and accuracy from the service provider/TPA to ensure compliance with regulations, service agreement(s), and accurate invoices such as all benefits carriers, COBRA administration, FSA/HSA, 401(K), Employment Background check.

Qualifications that we will be looking for:
Prior experience working in a small to mid-sized SaaS company supporting a dispersed work team in multiple states.
A minimum of 5-8 years applicable and progressive experience handling all aspects of HR as referenced within this position description
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute
