Salary: Placement on Teacher Salary Schedule - between $50,000 - $79,000 (determined by prior experience and education)
Start Date: Around August 15, 2024
Working Hours: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (contracted)
Job Summary: The Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting a culture of clarity and accountability in pedagogy and best practices, based on our mission, Core Values, and Biblical perspective.
Instructional Coaches observe, support, and provide resources for teachers while working directly with administration in executing identified priorities with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement & growth, and building teacher capacity.
General Responsibilities:
- Support the Vision and Mission of Bellevue Christian School
- Model a commitment to Jesus Christ and to Christian education as a profession and calling
- Model an attitude of Christ-like servanthood, cooperation, accuracy, and accountability
- Create positive relationships with teachers, administrators, coaches, and the community
- Assist the Principal in leading the faculty, staff, and students in conducting a well-rounded, educational experience that is God-honoring in every dimension
- Maintain knowledge of scripture and a positive testimony
- Display patience, honesty, humility, a growth mindset, and emotional constancy
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with administration on identified instructional or academic priorities for the campus, departments, and individual teachers
- Plan and facilitate support, training, and professional development for individual faculty, small groups, and large group as directed by the Principal
- Assist individual teachers in developing unit and lesson plans
- Regularly observe teachers to determine areas of opportunities and supply feedback to teachers and the Principals to inform future PD offerings.
- Model lessons, when appropriate.
- Collaborate with School Administrators, Librarians, and technology staff to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to carry out school initiatives
- Facilitate the implementation of the TfT framework
- Support teachers in designing Formational Learning Experiences.
- Collaborate in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technology materials, digital curriculum, and software
- Regularly collaborate with the Student Academic Services (SAS) department to support differentiation
- Research best practices that support 21st century learning skills and the BCS Portrait of a Graduate
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field.
Qualifications (required):
- BA/BS from an accredited college/university
- Minimum three years successful teaching experience;
- Current Washington Teaching Certification
- Display a deep growth mind set

- Data-driven approach and collaborative decision making
- Strong collaboration skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficient technology skills
- Ability to plan, lead, and model mini lessons for teachers
- Familiarity with Secondary curriculum and supplemental resources
Qualifications (desired):
- Master's Degree in Education
Additional Details:
- Instructional coach must document work in a manner satisfactory to supervisor
- Use tact and courtesy when dealing with teachers and administrators.
Work Requirements:
- Operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, document cameras, and LCD Projectors
- Work is generally performed indoors, sitting or standing in an office or classroom, with standard office or classroom furniture
- Occasional bending as needed
- Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds) may be needed.
- Reliable vehicle needed to travel between locations (between 5 – 20 miles)
- Ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence
