An Austin based non-profit is looking to hire an Accountant. This position will allow work-from-home 4 days a week and 1 day in the office. This is an incredible organization that empowers youth.
Overview:
Grant and contract billings; Responsible for Accounts Receivable/Revenue Recognition, Financial Reporting, and General Ledger Maintenance and Security; Journal Entries to the General Ledger, creating monthly and annual reports contract and grant reports. Participant Payroll, payroll tax deposits, 403b retirement payments.

Under the general supervision of the CFO, the Accountant II will perform the following functions:
- Prepares monthly grant invoices to include the backup required by the funders.
- Monitoring grant budget to actual expenses at the time of the billing to ensure expenses are within the budgeted line items.
- Reconcile and report grant income and expense quarterly to Program Director.
- Prepare Conservation Corps partner invoices monthly.
- Collections on outstanding invoices.
- Reconcile and resolve accounting problems and discrepancies;
- Participant payroll
- Payroll tax deposits and account reconciliation when needed.
- 403B retirement plan payments and reconciliation when needed. Ensure accounting documents, records, invoices, and reports are prepared, maintained, and presented in an accurate and timely manner;
- Ensure policies, procedures, and accounting functions are followed and completed per internal policies and grant requirements;
- On an as needed basis: a. Attend and participate in meetings;
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates will have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Five (5) years of Non-Profit or other accounting related experience; Advanced Excel
- Non-profit grant billing and expense allocation, SAGE MIP software, Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, computers and general office equipment; Donor contact management software;
