Servant Logistics is looking for an energetic self-motivated individual to manage and develop new business throughout the Chicago Area.
Servant Logistics is a dedicated logistics company that looks at customer's daily delivery needs and develops an outsourcing solution utilizing independent contractors. We started in 2012 and currently manage drivers and routes in multiple states.
The ideal candidate will be:
- SELF MOTIVATED as the compensation package will be heavily weighted towards new business and commission. Aside from the first few weeks, there will be very little supervision.
- EXPERIENCED WITH COLD CALL SALES - While we will also work together to develop leads, we are looking for managers who can seek out business on their own.
- Entrepreneurial - Our area operations managers are basically running their own business unit. We encourage you to develop new streams of revenue and come to us with new ideas.
- Good With People - In this position you will be assisting customers in managing their pool of independent contractors. You will develop relationships with both.
- Organized - Tracking the activities of dozens of independent contractors requires meticulous organization. We work with our managers to develop the tracking tools, but it is a job that must be kept up with daily.
- Available 7 Days Per Week, 24 hrs Per Day- If you have customers that work weekends, then you must be prepared to be available and deal with issues on weekends. That's not to say that there will always be issues, but you are the one to solve those issues if there are. Also, you may have overnight routes and when the occasional thing goes wrong, you will need to deal with it. This includes potentially finishing a route yourself.
This is not a Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day job. It is very much like being a small business owner with similar challenges and rewards. You'll be able to go to your kids recital because you don't punch a clock, but you'll take a business call at 9pm because you don't punch a clock. There is great opportunity for work-life balance here. This is also a great job for an ambitious college grad to get their start in the business world (though a degree is NOT a requirement).
