Job Title: Electrician - Maintenance & Repair
Supervisor/Manager: Facilities Manager/Coordinator
Summary of Principal and Major Responsibilities:
The Congregation of Divine Providence, also known as Our Lady of the Lake Convent, is seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will perform all types of scheduled and emergency electrical repairs and installations at our facility located on the scenic campus of Our Lady of the Lake Convent. This role involves executing journeyman-level electrical work, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and safety standards. Performs all types of scheduled and emergency electrical repairs and installations. Executes journeyman-level electrical work, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and safety standards.
Pay Status: NON-EXEMPT. Subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore entitled to its minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, etc.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Performs Electrical Work:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, electrical panels, and power distribution.
- Diagnoses electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Replaces light bulbs, ballasts, switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensures all electrical work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
- Follows safety protocols to prevent electrical hazards.
- Conducts routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Performs regular maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Keeps detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
- General Maintenance Support:
- Assists in other maintenance tasks as needed, including minor carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs.
- Customer Service:
- Interacts professionally with residents, visitors, and other employees.
- Provides clear explanations of electrical issues and repair processes to non-technical personnel.
- Team Collaboration:
- Works effectively as part of a maintenance team.
- Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or trade school.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a licensed electrician.
Licensure/Certification:
- Must have a current Electrician's License.
- Must have a current state driver's license.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform work inside and outside.
- Must be able to reach places requiring standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, twisting, continuous arm movement, and sitting.
- Must be able to work with various chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Must be able to work in environments with harsh conditions such as odors, loud noises, wet areas, confined spaces, and dust.
- Must be able to act independently and handle stressful situations.
- May include occasional out-of-town and/or overnight travel.
- Subject to cuts, bruises, and burns from hand or power tools.
- When required, must wear protective clothing and equipment, which may be uncomfortable.
- Must be able to work on ladders and elevated platforms.
- Subject to 24-hour recall if emergency conditions warrant.
