Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for various projects. If you have a passion for electrical systems and cutting-edge technology, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
-· Development of P&ID drawings, write control narratives, and one-line drawings.
· Interface/manage with subcontractors for programming development, electrical drawing development, electrical panel design/fabrication.
· Interface with subcontractors to create schematic drawing sets including control panel layouts, instrument to PLC wiring, and network layouts.
· Manage subcontractors for electrical panel fabrication and lead panel fabrication assessment test.
· Work with Project Manager to lead system commissioning at customer site.
· Remote HMI/PLC support to the field operating team
· Train plant operators and maintenance personnel on system operations
· Develop systems using Allen-Bradley Programmable logic controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Programming
· Integrate new control systems into existing plant control systems.
· Support preparation of control philosophy, control narratives, cause and effect, O&M manual, and commissioning book for the execution of the projects
· Support product development activities and interface with stakeholders to report on progress.
· Support new customer site installations and troubleshooting of existing customer sites operations.
· Interface with Sales, Applications Engineering and Project Execution to support ongoing project efforts.
· Support procurement with sourcing and manufacturing efforts.
· Occasional travel to sites to support projects and field activities.
Qualifications:
-· Bachelor’s Degree required, Electrical or Control Engineering preferred.
· Minimum of 15 years of electrical and control design experience, preferably in the water and wastewater industry (both aerobic and anaerobic systems along with membrane treatment and RO systems), EPC, or chemical industries
· Extensive experience with system design, installation, start-up, operation, and maintenance.
· Extensive experience with Allen-Bradly and Siemens control system programming programmable logic controllers (PLC) on range of platforms.
· Extensive experience with Ignition databases
· Experience with tuning control systems (PID control loops) in the field during system testing and start-up.
· Experience in developing graphical user interface (GUI) for human-machine interface (HMI) to PLC in a variety of platforms.
· Familiarity and comfort with control systems hardware and system wiring
· Familiarity with process sensors and actuators
