JOB SUMMARY
The responsible for Functioning as a member of the healthcare team performing clinical and leadership duties which are required for the operating room and all other perioperative services (PREOP/PACU/SPD/CST/RT). This position reports: Administrator and Team Lead RN.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of operational policies and procedures for a specific department within nursing services. Collaborate in intra- and inter-departmental planning, problem solving, and decision making within the scope of their responsibility. This position requires the application of advanced, broad-based knowledge of nursing practice and theory as well as advanced knowledge of techniques of supervision, management, and leadership.
- Interprets and directs the implementation of nursing philosophy and objectives, departmental policies and procedures, and applies recognized standards of nursing care and practice.
- Plans, selects, and devises nursing operations, work methods, procedures, work flow and standards for quality and quantity of work, including staffing standards. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinate supervisors/other nursing personnel. Prepares formal answers to, and recommends the adjustment of, grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Determines personnel, material, equipment, and facilities needed to accomplish program goals.
- Assist leadership in preparing budgets for assigned area or program and is responsible for adherence to approved budget
- Coordinates nursing activities with those of other services or disciplines.
- Assists leadership in monitoring and evaluating operations for compliance with licensure, accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Establishes, implements, and evaluates quality of care for assigned area or program.
- Assesses plans, directs, and evaluates educational and clinical professional development programs for assigned area or program.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Directs patient flow through the continuum of care: PREOP/OR/PACU
- Maintains the Operating Room as assigned, in accordance with written policies and in compliance with various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Responsible for effective staffing management of labor/productivity as well as flexing teammates appropriately.
- Ability to maintain a high level of collaboration and communication through team meetings and daily huddles via in-person, electronic and written formats.
- Assists with the development and monitoring of the standards of assigned areas pertaining to the Operating Room, and corresponding ancillary areas.
- Responsible for efficient and effective patient care and quality improvement.
- Helps in determining goals and effectively manages resources to achieve the goals.
- Provides immediate mentoring/coaching to teammates as needed.
- Maintains a collegial relationship with physicians to ensure quality patient care.
- Manages Vendor coordination and ensures compliance of PPOA Policies
- Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Current RN License
- Bachelors of Nursing Degree, required
- Independent decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills – Fosters an environment of collaboration and respect with physician colleagues, nurses and other healthcare team members.
- Effective Team Building skills and ability to maintain an excellent Culture of Safety within the organization.

- Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient’s care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
- Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.

- Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.
- Ability to communicate well with patients, families, Teammates, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc.

HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The facility is located in Hurst, Texas. The job will be Monday through Friday. Work hours will typically be 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (may be subject to change with case load).
