The School District of West Salem is seeking qualified individuals who would like the opportunity to become part of our team.
This unique position will ride the special education bus provide support for the health & safety of students with special education needs during their transportation to and from school.
The hours are Monday thru Friday 6:30-8:00, 10:15-12:00 and 2:30-3:45. Approximately 22 hours per week. Additional hours are possible as the school year progresses based upon student needs.
Essential duties of the school bus paraprofessional include greeting parents/caregivers and students at pick-up and drop-off, developing rapport with students, working collaboratively with the bus driver while ensuring supervision and safety of students on the bus, and communicating with special education teachers regarding positive behavior supports on the school bus.
