Position Overview for the Cloud Engineer II:
- Cloud Architecture and Engineering: Perform architectural advisement and Tier 3 engineering support for current and future cloud-based projects, including the transition and deployment of legacy and new applications to the IDCS platform.
- Security and Compliance: Establish guardrails and security mechanisms for cloud environments, develop IA artifacts for ATOs, and manage security controls for Impact Levels/Zones spanning IL4-TS.
- Migration and Deployment: Manage the transition of legacy applications between brokered accounts, deploy and sustain instances, VM's, and container clusters, and assist with network connections and space allocation.
- Operational Support: Provide surge support for emerging needs, establish workflows for incident response and change management using Service Now (SNOW), and document processes and procedures.
Required Skills for the Cloud Engineer II:
- Experience: 3-6 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud-native cost-effective solutions on AWS, and experience with large, distributed cloud-hosted systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud-native AWS platforms and services, familiarity with containerization, CI/CD concepts, identity federation, and experience with CM languages, scripting, IaC, or OOP. Strong familiarity with AWS cloud concepts and services.
- Certifications: Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within six months of start.
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Security Clearance required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS Engineering, Computer Science, or Math) or equivalent experience preferred.
