Essential Job Functions:
*Ability to earn additional compensation through sales bonuses with uncapped earning potential*
*Previous locomotive industry experience preferred*
- Devise and implement sales strategies, goals, and forecasts.
- Identify business opportunities through industry analysis and relationship building.
- Maintain effective budgetary control of sales expenses.
- Drive new sales leads to proposals/quotations individually and as a part of a team.
- Lead the preparation of RFB/IFB submittals; budgetary and formal quotations.
- Coordinate meetings with potential and existing customers. Investigate incoming sales leads.
- Participate in the development of new products and modification of existing products.
- Research industry trends and potential projects.
- Participate in trade shows.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, etc.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations.
- Develop and maintain professional communications.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Travel for customer visits, trade shows, meetings, etc.
- May develop into position with supervisory responsibilities over other sales professionals.
- Other functions as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Previous locomotive sales experience or experience in this industry strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, potential customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience with MRP software and CRM software preferred.
