OFFICIAL TITLE: Health Services ManagerMONTHS: 12SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: The Health Services Manager will work closely with the Executive Director of Student Services, the Nursing Supervisor, Building Administration, and external stakeholders while providing District leadership and support to the District Health Services Department. The Health Services Manager will work collaboratively with various stakeholders as it relates to staff development and process improvement.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of PreK 12 school health protocols and regulations. Ability to provide leadership, coaching, training and professional development to staff. Ability to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders.
Possess excellent planning, organization, record keeping, communications (oral and written) and human relations skills. Ability to prepare documents, reports and presentations with accuracy and a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of community resources is strongly preferred.Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative.Self-motivated and flexible; must show demonstrated ability to set priorities and work with limited supervision and be able to meet deadlines competently.Strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to ones work.Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services and/or Superintendent or designee.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Licensed Registered Nurse, DESE Administration Licensure/Certificate or the ability to secure said licensure or certificate. Minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role or similar education/experience.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the District Health Services DepartmentCoordinates community immunization programs in coordination with other community immunization programs.Manages the protocols related to the exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.Acts as a District liaison with community medical professionals, School Physician, local boards of health and other health services agencies in developing/maintaining/improving Health Services guidelines.Communicates with parents, staff, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.Provides support to staff as it relates to Health Services.Provides support to Health Services staff regarding the selection and referral of students in need of medical care.Develops, delivers, and/or coordinates the professional development of staff.Participates in meetings with various stakeholders as needed including those related to the development and operations of a school-based health center.Advises school administration on modification of the educational programs to meet health needs of the students.Provides nursing consultation in medical areas for the management of the health care of students with chronic and acute conditions while providing referrals as necessary.Ability to develop informational materials for staff, students and families.Prepares and submits reports required by the Superintendent, Administration, DESE, or the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.Provides supervision/evaluation to multiple Health Service staff.Supports the District's strategic plan and goals including the creation of a school-based health centerPerforms other related duties under the direction of the Executive Director of Student Services, Superintendent or designee.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Registered Nurse, MA DESE Administration Licensure or ability to secure said license or certificatePHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing): Frequent fine motor use such as typing, filing.
Alternative standing, sitting, bending.
