Under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, the sanitation operator is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitizing of machinery used to produce finished goods. This is to ensure compliance with equipment sanitary conditions prior to the start of production in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Cleaning duties include:
- Pre-sanitation production area prior to starting of the sanitation process.

Pre-rinsing of equipment

CIP & QA inspections

Final rinse & foam
-
Reassembly of equipment
- After sanitation is completed, perform pre-production pre-op, and start to produce quality product as per daily production schedule for shift startup.

- Perform sanitation duties as required by SSOPs.

Perform cleaning of high hygiene process areas.

Strictly adhere to and follow all applicable Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.

Properly record information related to cleaning and sanitation tasks as required.
- Prepares products for distribution productively and accurately according to established guidelines and customer specifications.
- Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working conditions.
- Works independently and in a team as assigned and moves between job functions as needed.
- Practices safety awareness.

Supervisory responsibilities
Work environment
While performing the functions of this job, the employee:
- Continuously exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Wet or humid conditions, extreme cold.

Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and dust airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical demands

Physical activity includes standing and walking for up to 8-12 hours with scheduled breaks.
- Ability to function in a cold environment, including bending, twisting, stepping, stooping, reaching, lifting, and pushing.
- Physical ability to move products weighing up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.

Ability to safely operate hand and power equipment according to the procedure.
