JOB GOAL:
Maintain District facilities, HVAC and refrigeration equipment in such a manner that no disruption occurs to instructional programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Completion of an Accredited HVAC Program or Associates Degree in AC&R
5 Years of Successful HVAC & Ref experience
Possess a Type I and II refrigerant certification.
Alternatives to the above qualifications the administration deems appropriate
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Routine servicing of installed air conditioning and refrigeration systems including, compressors, condensers, valves, coils, cooling towers, heat pumps, motors, belts, bearings, fans, filters, piping, wiring, control systems, thermostats, ducting, heat exchangers, pumps, actuators, and other appurtenances.
2. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctioning systems and components.
3. Interpret engineering drawings and equipment manuals related to air conditioning and refrigeration systems and component parts.
4. Perform replacement of major and minor parts, components, or entire systems.
5. Performs overhauls on major equipment components.
6. Perform regular scheduled inspections of facilities and HVAC systems.
7. Monitor Maintenance Department maintenance management system, complete assigned tasks in accordance with Department goals and guidelines. Complete assigned work requests by accurately entering technician comments, labor and material costs in accordance with Department goals. Fill out District forms and maintains electronic maintenance records as directed.
8. Compile, catalog and maintain inventory of supplies, materials, tools and equipment utilizing the inventory management module of the maintenance management system for items issued to worker or assigned vehicle. Issue inventoried parts and materials on work requests so accurate inventory of parts is maintained.
9. Assist other maintenance personnel as needed and directed by supervisor.
10. Perform such other duties as the superintendent or designee may assign..
