Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
We are actively interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for full-time roles with school districts in the Papillion, Nebraska area for the 2024-2025 school year.
Position Overview: The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with colleagues and parents, and ensuring that each student receives the support necessary to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction in various academic subjects, adapting curriculum and teaching methods to meet the needs of each student.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success and inclusion in the general education setting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and participation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for student goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals and other support staff working with students with disabilities.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Valid Nebraska teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Skills: Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
