The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will assist in the purchasing process. You will place purchase orders, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Responsibilities
- Manage designated materials
- Source new materials and provide quotes to quality department
- Place order for special materials and communicate delivery information to scheduling
- Place POs as needed to meet production demands
- Investigate and resolve shipping errors from vendors
- Reconcile PO, packing slips, and invoice disputes on managed materials
- Update items in data file as needed to keep accurate units of measure (UOM), vendor information, and current pricing
- Conduct inventory when required
- Familiar with cycle counts and month-end inventory.
- Assist on various purchasing related projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-5 years of buying experience
- Working knowledge of computers such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment; NetSuite experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
