Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus diploma from an accredited CNA, Medical Assistant, or LPN Program
- Must possess and maintain a current CPR certificate
- Must possess and maintain a current Med Aide license
- Participates in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs as directed by supervisor or physicians
Experience:
- Previous Experience preferred
Job Duties:
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment to facilitate treatment and examination of patients by setting up instruments/equipment and stocking supplies in exam rooms
- Prepare patients for physician exam by reviewing medical records, recording vital signs (which includes height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respirations) and taking history of patient as appropriate for exam and documentation for patient chart (which includes date of injury, date scheduled for surgery, date of onset, etc.)
- Assist physician with exams, including minor surgical procedures, as requested by each individual physician
- Make appointments for patients to see specialists
- Make appointments for patients to have diagnostic testing
- Fill out referral sheet for each scheduled appointment
- Perform injections, drug screens, BP checks, or anything else that a patient comes in for as ordered by physician
- Perform venipuncture and lab tests as needed according to proper protocol (includes wearing gloves)
- Perform EKGs
- Be responsible for marking super bills for any injections, lab work or procedures performed
- Be responsible for making sure an appropriate Medicare ABN (waiver) is filled out appropriately and signed by the patient according to Medicare guidelines
- Sterilization of pap and surgical instruments as needed
- Send in refills and new prescriptions for physicians as ordered
- Call lab results and other orders to patients as assigned by physician
- Assist front office personnel during slow or down time or as assigned by a supervisor, manager or physician
- Follow all protocols and procedures as written by employer
- Assist with answering refill line voice mail when needed
- Any other duties as assigned by manager, supervisor or physician
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
