Loreto in Frogtown/Elysian Valley is looking for a Part-Time Bartender to join the team! We’re an upscale-casual Mexican seafood restaurant that specializes in seafood dishes inspired by the fresh ingredients from the Baja coast. We are a full bar restaurant with specialty cocktails and a curated wine selection. Mariscos Za Za Zá is our counter-service lunch concept at the same location.
Open availability preferred, weekend availability required.
Responsibilities
- Optimally tailor each guest’s bar experience
- Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
- Maintain the cleanliness of bar tools and bar areas
- Communicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as necessary
- Support team with beverage service to all dining areas
- Assist with bar prep including but not limited to juicing and cutting fruit, preparing syrups, building garnishes and batches, etc.
- Receiving and working with ingredients for the preparation of bar menu items
- Complete all necessary opening and closing side-work according to standards and specifications set by the team in a timely and professional manner
- Responsibly serve alcoholic beverages
- Full knowledge of food and beverage menu items
- Cleaning, polishing and maintaining stock of bar glassware and service-ware
- Able to create relevant and creative beverages based on requirements of guests or managers
- Work cleanly and maintain organization during service
- Communicate efficiently and respectfully
- Effectively communicating service irregularities to all
- Full knowledge of bar food and beverage menus, and able to guide guests to best order
- Constantly pushing to creatively interpret positive guest relations and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Food Handler certificate
- RBS certificate
- Willing to train the right person but 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience placing full orders in POS systems (preferably Toast)
- Extensive liquor, cocktail, and general beverage knowledge
- Ability to work in an organized and meticulous manner with strong attention to small details
- Ability to adapt to changing systems inherent to a new restaurant
- Solution-focused, receptive to constructive criticism and general performance feedback
- Must have strong interest in food, wine, cocktails, & the business of hospitality
- Ability to carry 25 lbs.
