Part-time 24-25 hours a week - Daylight hours between 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Schedule options: 5 hours/day Tuesday - Saturday or 8 hours/day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

This part-time, non-exempt position is responsible for general maintenance at the Sisters of St. Joseph in Baden, a private, non-profit religious organization that emphasizes caring for one another and seeing the best in ourselves and others. This is the personal residence of the Sisters referred to as the Motherhouse. Under direction, Our maintenance team provides performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance and repair work on buildings, facilities and equipment.

Essential duties & responsibilities:
· Performs a variety of skilled plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical activities associated with the maintenance and repair of the facility
· Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing systems and a variety of plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets and water heaters
· Makes repairs on doors, windows, floors gates, fences and ceilings
· Constructs, repairs and installs furniture, shelves, cabinets, countertops and other fixtures
· Finishes or repairs surfaces and drywall and paints or stains as needed
· Inspects and performs minor repairs of HVAC systems and motorized equipment
· Identifies damaged or worn electrical components and takes corrective action as assigned
· Repairs, replaces and maintains electrical wiring, fuses, switches, motors, generators, lighting systems and other electrical fixtures and equipment
· Maintains records of activities including preventative maintenance services and service requests
· Operates a variety of hand and power tools
· Other duties as assigned.
Candidates must pass criminal clearances and drug screen.
Education & Experience
Required: High School diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years’ experience in general maintenance, construction or facilities maintenance, preferably in a non-profit religious organization; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must have valid driver’s license.
Preferred: Technical school education or specialized training in maintenance, construction or facilities maintenance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, to talk, to hear, to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including those that require inside and outside work in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, humid), work from a ladder or scaffolding at various heights, ability to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
This job operates in a noisy environment. This role routinely uses light motorized equipment, hand and power tools, and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets.
