Are you an Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter?
Peer Recovery Supporters (PRS’s) provide a variety of recovery-oriented services to individuals who have self-identified as desiring peer supports, promoting greater independence, community integration, and recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. PRS’s assist with, coordinate, and oversee brief intervention, a wide range of classes, life skill activities, support groups, and advocacy activities. These services contribute to the participant’s self-esteem, ability to engage in ongoing treatment, and develop/maintain healthy life styles. PRS’s will be providing these services in various settings, including but not limited to Clinton County Jail, as well as other Clinton County agencies including recovery housing, homeless shelters, and area community mental health providers.
NO TRANSPORTING OF CLIENTS
Required Experience Qualifications:
· Personal, lived experience with mental health or drug abuse issues
Skills and Knowledge Required
· Leadership skills
· Strong desire to work with individuals with mental health/substance use disorder diagnosis
· Sensitivity to people struggling with mental health and substance use disorder diagnosis
· Familiarity with and/or interest in furthering understanding of mental health related issues and recovery principals as well as the impact on the individual and surrounding community
· Well organized, detail oriented, and good time management skills
· Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
· Demonstrate familiarity and ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office programs
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with individuals 1-1 to increase their recovery and coping skills
· Share community resources that assist in recovery and meeting basic needs
· Share personal story of recovery to help others
· Possibly run Seeking Safety groups, Intensive Outpatient Groups, or support groups in various settings
· Collect necessary data for outcome reporting
· Regular and timely data entry to ensure quality communication and timely reporting
· Represent the agency in a positive, professional manner in all public and private meetings, speaking engagements, and events
· Work cooperatively and respectfully with all agency programs, co-workers, volunteers, clients, community members, and funders
· Coordinate programs and services and build participant base/peer support relationships within and outside of the agency
· Work within budget and funder guidelines
· Ensures program efficacy and adherence to agency policies, procedures and safety requirements
· Assist with publicity and outreach activities
· Coordinate and consult with other Clinton/Warren County staff members & agencies to keep team informed of issues and progress
· Carries out other duties as assigned

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
