Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is currently recruiting for LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES (LPN/LVN). Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center provides Acute Psychiatric Hospitalization and Residential Treatment services for children and adolescents ages four to eighteen. The campus is located in Dothan, AL on a ten-acre campus approximately 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. Dothan, AL offers a mild climate, affordable housing, low property taxes and a wide variety of products and services that includes health care, education, shopping and cultural entertainment. Located a few short miles from the state lines of Florida and Georgia, the area embraces the best that life has to offer, providing its residents not only modern conveniences and amenities, but also provides the charm and friendliness of the South. Dothan is a short 2-hour drive to the white sand beaches of Panama City, FL.
Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is currently seeking LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES (LPN/LVN) for various shifts.
The LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES (LPN/LVN) will provide nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process. The LPN is directly responsible to the Nurse Manager, RN House Supervisor, or RN Charge Nurse for quality patient care provided to patients on the units. The LPN/LVN will also:
- Demonstrate knowledge, effectiveness and efficiency in providing nursing care.
- Provide nursing care based on the patient’s nursing care plan under the direction of the physician.
- Observe patient behavior and notifies appropriate staff.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects patient’s rights.
- Assist the physician with physical exams.
- Collect routine urine specimens, clean catch urine specimens, stool specimens, and sputum specimens; takes temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure counts; and weighs patients as directed by the physician.
- Assist with admissions, discharge, and transfer of patients.
- Follows instructions outlined in the policies and procedures.
- Completes rounds and observes precautions and documents.
- Serves as a role model for patients.
- Ensures that patients and families are oriented to the hospital and unit program.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current status as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Alabama.
- One (1) year of experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- LPN must have credentials to direct physical management of the patient and have current CPR certification

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
