Job Summary:
Provide administrative support for the Office of the Client in Boston. This role involves reviewing and approving online applications to authorize the release of a decedent to a funeral home.
Training:
Three weeks of training, Monday through Friday, will be required before transitioning to the Tuesday-Saturday schedule. In-person attendance is mandatory; this is not a remote position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive, process, and approve funeral home applications for decedent release through the online Decedent Release Portal, following standard operating procedures.
- Release certified death records to the appropriate funeral home via the electronic death registration system (VIP/MAVRIC).
- Communicate discrepancies in decedent demographic or legal next of kin/claimant information to OCME medicolegal investigators for review.
- Document all case release information in the client system and ensure all required documents and forms are electronically attached for printing and filing.
