Are you tired with working at an insufficiently staffed hospital or dealing with management staff members that are disconnected from day-to-day operations? If so, then Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital may be the place for you! We have been a privately-owned practice for over 60 years and are we are rapidly growing at a time when so many hospitals are losing staff and shrinking. Over the past 4 years we have doubled in size from a 2-doctor practice with 11 staff members to a 4-doctor practice with 22 staff members. We will be breaking ground on a brand-new facility, next to our existing one, in June 2024. Our new cutting-edge new facility will drive continued growth for many years and will make us a premier destination for veterinary care in the area.
We have a fun team of talented individuals who collaborate as equals with one common goal: providing nothing but the best medical care to each and every patient. How do we do this? Well, we start by scheduling all appointments for 30 minutes. As a result of this, our technicians aren't rushed and our patients get better care. Each technician also has a dedicated assistant to help with handling/restraint. Our hospital has also been AAHA accredited for over 25 years. If you want more proof of our quality medicine, then check out our reviews on Google. Our hospital has more than 300 reviews and a high average review score (currently 4.9 out of 5).
Our doctors also provide plenty of guidance and support without micro-managing. A successful candidate will need to be able to perform the following tasks:
- Venipuncture.
- IV catheter placement.
- Administer vaccinations.
- Cytology on ear, skin and urine sediment samples.
- Endotracheal intubation.
- Evaluate/assess anesthesia parameters: SP02, C02, blood pressure, heart rate, eye position and jaw tone.
- Aseptically prepare patients for surgery.
- Properly restrain canine and feline patients.
- Ear cleaning.
- Trim nails
Our technicians are provided with all of the tools to perform their job to the fullest. These tools include:
- Paperless medical record-keeping system with Cornerstone software.
- Digital radiology.
- In-house blood and urine analyzers.
- Cardell touch screen anesthesia monitors.
- Nikkon microscope.
- Doppler blood pressure monitor.
- Class IV therapy laser.
We have one of the best compensation packages in the business that includes the following:
- Highly competitive wages. The starting rate of pay ($23-$30/hr) is commensurate with experience and abilities. We also provide scheduled annual performance-based raises.
- Health, dental and vision insurance through Excellus BCBS Healthy NY. The hospital pays for half of the monthly premium. The annual deductible is low ($600 for health, $50 for dental) and the coverage is excellent.
- Paid time off.
- Paid holidays.
- Profit sharing. When the practice hits a monthly goal, bonus checks are issued to support staff on a monthly basis. These checks typically add 8 to 10% in income.
- Paid continuing education (available 1 year after hire date).
- Discounted veterinary care for up to 4 pets.
- Annual uniform allowance (available 3 months after hire date).
- Annual CE budget (available 1 year after hire date). We send our techs to conferences!
You can also expect to have a great work-life balance. Our technicians only have to work once every 5th Saturday from 8am-1pm and get a weekday off. We are closed on Sundays. There are no after-hours emergencies either.
Our hospital has been a pillar of the community since 1961 by focusing on and being dedicated to the needs of our patients and our employees. Join us as we continue to grow and service the community for decades more. Please visit our website Fayettevilleveterinaryhospital.com to learn more about us and to see the schematic design images of our new upcoming facility.
We kindly ask that you only communicate through Indeed rather than calling the hospital. Like most other veterinary hospitals, we are quite busy and need to keep our phones lines open for clients.
