PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Cloud ERP Technical Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the migration from an on-premise Microsoft AX ERP to a cloud-based Microsoft D365 ERP. Beyond the initial transition phase, this position assumes ongoing responsibility for providing technical expertise and support to the internal team on all aspects related to cloud-based ERP operations and optimizations. Additionally, this role will contribute significantly to the standardization of processes and technologies across multiple D365 instances. While contributing as a technical authority, this role collaborates closely with other senior technical team members and managers to ensure smooth integration and continuous improvement within the cloud environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess existing systems and infrastructure readiness for cloud migration.
- Assist in developing a comprehensive transition plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Support the execution of the transition plan, through direct involvement and by providing technical guidance to internal team members and external vendors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during the transition process, leveraging expertise in both on-premise and cloud technologies.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices for cloud-based operations, including security, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to cloud computing, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members, fostering their professional growth in cloud-related ERP skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing business processes and workflows.
- Build and maintain relationships with service providers and external partners to leverage their expertise and resources effectively.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of systems and applications.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS:
- Required Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud technologies, including Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics AX2012/D365 F&O and related technologies.
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Technically proficient in: Visual Studio, C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, Azure DevOps, Lifecycle Services, VSTS, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, report development in Crystal/SSRS/PowerBI.
- Other Desirable Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with EDI platforms
- Experience with shipping systems
- Hardware interface programming a plus
- ERP:
- Understanding of ERP systems, particularly in manufacturing, inventory management, and interfaces into other systems
- Preferred experience with multi-company environments and both wholesale and retail sales models
- Work Related:
- Proven track record of contributing to successful ERP and cloud migration projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of five years experience in technical roles with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365.
- Relevant certifications in ERP and cloud computing are advantageous.
**This position is classified as a hybrid position, but is open to remote if the selected candidate is outside of 45 miles from Bradford, PA.**
