Responsible for controlling pest populations through scouting, anticipating pest pressure, and overseeing preventative pesticide applications and related activities. Includes supervision and training of workers in safe working practices around chemicals and equipment hazards. Must be organized, proactive, and proficient in working maintenance and operation of all tractors, sprayers, and other equipment used in pest management. Responsible for compliance with the Worker Protection Standard, record keeping, and licensing according to government agencies and Company policies.
Requires 2-year technical degree in a Science or related field plus a minimum of 1-year's experience in an industry which requires pesticide applications. Extensive experience in the nursery industry can substitute for degree. Required to have Pesticide license or ability to obtain a license within one month of employment.
