The Program Specialist Manager is ultimately responsible for the operations of day programs in Fayette, Mercer, and Moon Township. The Program Specialist Manager also supervises all Program Specialists (residentially and ATF). The Program Specialist Manager assists Program Specialists where needed and carries a small caseload of individuals in the Moon ATF. This is a salaried exempt position.
Contributions:

Oversees new admissions/discharges of individuals.

Compiles ongoing waiting list for potential new admissions.

Oversees programming aspect for CLA individuals.

Member of Human Rights.

Member of Risk Management Team.

Certified Investigator.
-
Attends The Provider Alliance meetings on a monthly basis.

Attends the Allegheny County Provider meetings (for potential candidates) on a monthly basis.

Works closely with the Office of Developmental Disabilities in regards to regulations.

Works closely with the Office of Intellectual Disabilities related to admissions.
-
Works closely with Financial Department.
-
Works to meet all State Licensing requirements, including 33b 1-19 regarding plan need.

Participates in 24 hours of annual in servicing as required by governing regulations.

Completes all necessary job duties related to ATF Program Specialist for small caseload.

Completes all necessary job duties related to Program Specialist residentially (if necessary).

Participates in staff orientation as assigned.

Provides liaison between family and Verland (when applicable).
-
Provides liaison between Specialists and Verland Management team.
-
Completes chart reviews as necessary.
-
Compiles information for ODP Monitoring.

Assists with the Interdisciplinary Team Process as necessary.

Meets with Program Specialist.
-
Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:
- Must possess knowledge of current practices and regulations pertaining to the I/DD field.

Must have effective verbal and written skills necessary to both communicate with individuals and staff, as well as to prepare necessary written documentation.

Must be able to effectively monitor individual programming, provide hands-on implementation and staff training.

Must possess the ability and empathy needed to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees, supervisory staff, Base Service Units, families of the individuals, and our co-representative.

Must demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
-
Must have specialized training or one year’s experience in treating or working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and must possess one of the following: Master’s Degree from an accredited college and one (1) year’s experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities; Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and two (2) years’ experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities; or Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college and four (4) years’ experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have Supervisory skills.

Must have all required clearances and a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, and driving. Also required are abilities to: lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds independently, bend and stretch as needed, see, hear, speak, write, push, pull, climb, twist, reach, and possess manual dexterity.
