DIRECTOR OF RECRUITING
Overview
Northwestern Mutual – Central Illinois is seeking a Director of Recruiting as an important and essential part of our team! This role is responsible for our agency recruitment efforts across Central Illinois. The recruiter will execute office recruiting plans, including sourcing, cultivation of referrals, and pipeline management, to reach our recruiting goals. Critical competencies in this position include interpersonal savvy, priority setting, strong verbal and written communication skills, and drive for results. This is an onsite position located in our downtown Champaign, IL office and may include occasional travel to events or other offices in Central Illinois.
Primary Responsibilities
Sourcing & Selection
- Source and review candidates and conduct initial interviews
- Own relationship and communication with candidates throughout the recruiting lifecycle
- Administer screening tools and assessments
- Develop effective referral sources within the office, with local community advocates, and from a variety of other sources that generate qualified leads
- Outline and execute plan to develop referral culture in the agency
- Coordinate advertising and marketing strategies
- Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share leads and best practices
Accountability, Tracking, and Analysis
- Report weekly recruiting activity to leadership team
- Develop proficiency and use of software to maintain candidate databases and accurate records of prospects to ensure efficiency of the selection process
- Assist in the coordination of candidate/leadership meetings and provide documentation of required qualifications prior to scheduling meetings
- Analyze recruiting ratios to identify inefficiencies in selection process; establish and implement improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional work experience, preferably in sales, recruiting, or related field
- Experience in the financial services industry a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally as a team member and with all levels of people
- Experience with prospecting; generating leads via phone or face-to-face interactions preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake)
- Strong network of personal/professional advocates or community involvement
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
