Job Description:
The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee all warehouse activities related to the assembly, loading, and handling of air cargo pallets. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of warehouse associates in the construction and assembly of air cargo pallets according to airline specifications and industry standards.
- Ensuring the accurate and efficient loading of freight onto pallets, taking into account weight distribution, balance, and securement requirements.
- Conducting quality checks to verify that all palletized shipments meet safety regulations and customer requirements.
- Implementing inventory control procedures to track pallets, cargo, and other warehouse materials accurately.
- Monitoring stock levels, replenishing supplies as needed, and coordinating with procurement teams to order pallets and packaging materials.
- Conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain inventory accuracy and prevent loss or damage.
- Providing training, guidance, and supervision to warehouse staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.
- Promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.
- Managing staffing levels, scheduling shifts, and allocating resources to meet operational demands.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to air cargo handling and pallet building.
- Conducting safety training sessions and promoting awareness of safe work practices to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Investigating and addressing any safety incidents, near misses, or quality issues in a timely and thorough manner.
- Communicating effectively with internal departments, such as logistics, customer service, and quality assurance, to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
- Providing regular updates and reports on warehouse performance, productivity, and compliance metrics.
Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience of warehouse supervision or management, with specific experience in air cargo/airlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of air cargo operations, including palletization techniques, load planning, and airline regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Forklift certification and knowledge of hazardous materials handling regulations are preferred.
